Fitness requirement:
The fitter you are the better! Running, aerobic fitness is all important. Training as if you were preparing for a Marathon would be a good approach. You could come out for a few days in late May-June as a way of introduction and skills training
Acclimatisation is the key, people acclimatise differently, the fitter you are the easier it is, hydration and good diet also helps.
The summit day may well be the hardest thing you have ever done, it is the last 300ms that is the most difficult, when you are at the top you are only half way! It is a long day, typically 12hrs.
